Full time School Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)-

As a full-time Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating munication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and staff. You will work closely with educators to ensure that classroom instruction and activities are accessible to all students, fostering an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing during classroom instruction, discussions, and activities.
• Collaborate with teachers to prepare materials and adapt lesson plans to acmodate the needs of students with hearing impairments.
• Facilitate munication between students, teachers, and peers in various school settings, including classrooms, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel valued and empowered to participate fully in academic and social activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students, families, and staff members.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of sign language interpreting techniques.
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID certification) preferred.
• Experience working with elementary school students, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong munication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey information in both sign language and spoken language.
• Flexibility, patience, and a passion for supporting the educational needs of students with disabilities.
