Position Summery

The RN, Patient Care Supervisor will coordinate high quality, effective patient care through role modeling, coaching and facilitation, while also assisting staff to maintain clinical practice, professional and critical thinking behaviors. Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assess unit activity needs and concerns by making rounds at least once per shift and through discussions with staff, physicians, patients and families
  • Assist in assessing the delivery of nursing care, ensuring current/potential problems are identified and appropriate action is taken in accordance with age specific, life cycle and developmental needs
  • Assist staff in maintaining nursing practice standards 
  • Act as a clinical resource to staff in technical, clinical and professional matters
  • Continually evaluate compliance with standards of care, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborate with director, clinical manager, and Staff Development department to develop highly competent, effective, accountable, professional staff members
     

  • Education: Graduate of accredited BSN program, or actively enrolled in an accredited BSN program 
  • Skills: Must have interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other hospital personnel as needed to promote quality patient care
  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care experience 
  • License: Active RN license in the State of Michigan 
  • Certification: BLS, ACLS
