Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Concrete Finisher at Superior Concrete Pumping located in Cold Lake, AB. The Concrete Finisher will be responsible for various day-to-day tasks involved in the finishing of concrete, including power tool operation, formwork, flatwork, carpentry, and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using power tools, such as grinders, saws, and drills
• Experience in formwork, including setting up and dismantling formwork, pouring and leveling concrete, and managing formwork materials
• Familiarity with flatwork, including finishing and smoothing concrete surfaces to desired specifications
• Carpentry skills, including measuring and cutting lumber, assembling formwork, and framing structures
• Experience in operating heavy equipment, such as skid-steers, bulldozers, and excavators, and the ability to manage and maintain the equipment
• Excellent physical condition and stamina to work for extended periods in all weather conditions
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Relevant certifications in concrete finishing and/or related trades, such as carpentry or heavy equipment operation, are highly desirable
• High school diploma or equivalent education is required, and vocational or technical training in concrete finishing is preferred
• Be able to communicate in English and willing to learn English to help communicate on job sites

Tasks

• Check form work, base material, and steel reinforcement
• Placement of concrete into form work
• finishing of concrete by hand or with power trowels as required for specific finishes
• Level concrete with proficiency and accuracy to me flatness requirements
• Instruct apprentices and provide mentorship
• install anchor bolts into form work
• apply sealers and hardeners onto concrete surfaces
• maintain safety standards
• repair concrete with a variety of methods ie: sack rub, grinding, bush hammer

Position Offer

• $23.00 - $35.00 depending on level of experience
