Job DescriptionCompany Description
Craftsmen Contractors is looking to hire HVAC Installers & Techs & Sheet Metal Mechanics for the New Orleans, La. area. These are temp to permanent positions. Work schedule is Mondays thru Fridays working day shifts.
Starting pay:
HVAC Installers & Techs, Sheet Metal/Duct Mechanics: $20- $25/hr. depending on experience
No per diem is offered for these positions.
Sheet Metal/Duct Mechanic & HVAC Technician/Installer Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ducts, control boxes, drain pipes, and furnace casings.
- Work with a variety of hand tools to help get the job done.
- Install prefabricated sheet metal ducts used for heating, air conditioning, or other purposes.
- Section cutting to assemble commercial rigid air conditioning duct work / systems, reading and interpreting blueprints of large chillers, specialized package units and also understanding electrical components such as lighting, panel boxes and building automation.
- Install air conditioning and ventilation equipment
- Design and install ducts and duct fittings
- Submit paperwork, adhere to company policies and follow safety procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with sheet metal, duct work and/or HVAC systems - 2 years preferred.
- Familiarity with HVAC wiring diagrams
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Must have basic hand tools, all PPE and reliable transportation.
