Audio Visual Technician - Marine Video Security and Training Simulation Systems

 

American Cruise Lines is seeking a shore side Audio Visual Technician to support our shoreside marine training simulation system and our shipboard video security systems supporting our fleet of U.S. flag passenger vessels sailing routes along inland and coastal waterways of the East Coast, Pacific Northwest, Columbia-Snake Rivers and Mississippi-Ohio-Cumberland-Tennessee Rivers. Our ideal candidate is a self-disciplined professional and team-oriented worker with experience in operating and maintaining audio visual systems and video gaming systems. Our candidate is a committed role model amongst our shoreside staffs and shipboard crews, operating and maintaining important systems supporting personnel training and shipboard operations.

 

The Audio Visual Technician reports to the Marine Training and Development Manager and the Company Security Officer. Our technicians support safe and compliant vessel operations, best practice training and security standards, adherence to company and regulatory standards, and represent the company as a professional role model. The Technician executes daily remote operations and maintenance of shipboard video systems and shoreside training simulation systems. The Technician communicates continually and travels periodically to sustain reliable system operations, optimize system efficiencies and security controls, and align system performance with operator requirements.

 

The Marine Audio Visual Technician operates, maintains, repairs shipboard video security systems and shoreside training simulation systems. They will also produce periodic audits of system performance and regular administrative reports, invoices, and files.

Who you are

As a Audio Visual Technician, you are connected to our mission to Share America’s Story on the Finest American Ships. You are a shoreside team member supporting our shipboard crews in maintaining effective safety and environmental practices every day.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair, and operate shipboard video security systems (cameras, monitors, drives, wiring, files etc).
  • Maintain, repair, and operate shoreside video training simulation systems (monitors, drives, wiring, files etc).
  • Support Company Security Officer in sustaining and auditing operable and password access-limited shipboard security systems; and prepare periodic video review files.
  • Support Company Marine Development Managers in sustaining and innovating marine training simulation systems; and assist prepare periodic video review files.
  • Optimize safe, compliant, and economical security system operation and marine training simulation operation.
  • Support teamwork across Marine, Hotel, Culinary department managers and procedures.
  • Complete administrative reporting, filing, invoicing, and documentation of system responsibilities.
  • Support safe, secure, clean, and comfortable environment for guests and crew.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Audiovisual and camera system maintenance, repair, and installation experience.
  • Exacqvision system experience.
  • Video gaming simulation system maintenance, repair, and installation experience.
  • Wartsila system experience.
  • Proven multi-tasking and prioritization project execution skills.
  • Purchasing and cost comparison-optimization experience.

Work Environment and Schedule:

  • Daily office hours, based in Sandy, UT. 
  • Fast-paced tempo communicating with shoreside staffs, shipboard crews, and equipment vendors.
  • 20% Travel to ships, Salt Lake City UT training center, and vendor locations.
  • Periodic after-hours response phone calls to remotely resolve-recover shipboard security systems
