What would you do as a Assistant Tool MakerAs a new Assistant Tool Maker at Placon Corporation, you can expect hands-on training and mentorship to help you hit the ground running. Your days will be filled with exciting opportunities to assist in tool making processes, collaborate with experienced team members, and contribute to innovative projects. Expect to work a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts, from 6 am to 6 pm or 12 pm to 12 am, two days on, two days off, providing you with a work-life balance that keeps you energized and focused.

What matters mostTo excel as an Assistant Tool Maker at Placon Corporation, you'll need a Certificate in Machine Tool Operations or a related field, paired with at least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment. Alternatively, equivalent machine tool experience in tool fabrication, maintenance, or a machine shop will be valuable. Proficiency in English is essential for training, safety, and quality purposes. Success in this role also requires a working knowledge of various machine shop equipment, including CAD/CAM, CNC mills, EDM's, milling machines, manual lathes, and drill presses.
The ability to read blueprints and apply shop math to build tools is crucial for producing high-quality work in a fast-paced and innovative manufacturing setting.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Certificate in Machine Tool Operations or related field and 1 year of experience in manufacturing environment - OR - Equivalent machine tool experience in tool fabrication
