SUMMARY

Performs a variety of retail functions including merchandising and display of items, sales and customer service. Provides back-up to Resale Manager as needed for the calculation and completion of weekly deposits; prepares weekly deposits and completes store reports in the Resale Manager's absence, as requested.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Greets customers as they enter the store; offers assistance as needed. Treats the public at all times in a courteous, cheerful and tactful manner.
  2. Takes the lead in keeping displays in proper order, as directed by Resale Manager; assures that store is kept neat, orderly and well stocked at all times.
  3. Participates actively in special sales or promotional initiatives. Ensures customers are made aware of sales or in-store specials.
  4. Answers customer questions or inquiries relative to clothing and accessories; assists customers with purchases.
  5. Operates cash register and/or POS terminal accurately; finalizes purchases. Balances drawer daily.
  6. Ensures that store is kept neat and orderly; assists with housekeeping duties, such as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, etc. Reports any facility maintenance or safety issues to Resale Manager promptly.
  7. Assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment within the store premises.
  8. Actively seeks sellers' and customers' contact information to be entered into POS system for communication and promotional purposes.
  9. Stays abreast of current fashion trends that may and can benefit the store's customer base and sales.
  10. Performs daily tasks to include, but not limited to purchasing, processing and displaying clothing/accessories for resale.
  11. Performs other essential tasks as requested or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school graduate or equivalent certification preferred, but not required. Prefer one (1) year's experience in retail, preferably in junior clothing/accessories, to include cash handling, cash register and POS terminal operation.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Florida driver's license with safe driver rating.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to deal courteously, tactfully and efficiently with co-workers, management and the public.
  • Emotional stability and maturity with a genuine interest in working in a retail setting.
  • Willingness to comply with in-service, training or other mandates.
