Primary Objective:

Our mission at Calvary Day School is to provide a Christ-centered educational experience for grades Pre-K – 12 through the development of the total student- spiritually, academically, socially, and physically.

Our vision is to cultivate in our students a lifelong passion to learn, lead, and serve through Christ-centered college-preparatory educational excellence.

Calvary Day School is seeking a passionate educator in our Upper School Math Department to inspire and instruct students through the math concepts of Algebra and Statistics. The math curriculum is designed to increase the student’s ability to think algebraically and to apply the resulting ideas to practical situations. Students use the order of operations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division as a springboard into higher mathematical operations. Major topics also include solving equations, solving systems of linear equations, graphing linear equations and inequalities, and factoring. The beginning-level classes incorporate areas of problem solving, reasoning, and communication of mathematical concepts. Students learn to assimilate concepts while discovering unknown information. In more advanced classes, students study logarithmic, trigonometric, and polynomial functions along with other special functions as tools for modeling real-world situations. These courses apply and enhance previously learned geometrical ideas, including transformations and measurement formulas.
