Medical Assistant-FrontOfficewithWorkers'Compensation Responsibilities



JobSummary:

WeareseekingaskilledMedicalFrontOfficeSpecialistwithspecializedknowledgeinhandling workers'compensationcases.Theidealcandidatewillexcelinadministrativetasks,possess excellentcommunicationskills,anddemonstrateproficiencyinmanagingadiverserangeofresponsibilitiesrelatedtofrontofficeoperationsandworkers'compensationprocedures.




Responsibilities:

Patient Care and Administrative Support:

  • Organize patient schedules and optimize patient flow.
  • Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms.
  • Assist patients with various activities, including transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and exam preparation.
  • Collect comprehensive patient medical histories.
  • Monitor and record vital signs accurately.
  • Perform screenings following provider guidelines.
  • Assist healthcare providers as needed, including documentation.
  • Conduct phone triage effectively.
  • Administer medications as prescribed.
  • Communicate instructions to patients and families and answer inquiries professionally.
  • Verify prescriptions in accordance with physician orders.
  • Manage the sending and receiving of patient medical records.
  • Obtain lab/X-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information as required.
  • Complete forms and requisitions as needed.
  • Schedule patient appointments efficiently.
  • Facilitate patient check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Verify insurance coverage and update patient demographics.
  • Maintain organized and complete patient charts.


Workers'CompensationCoordination:
  • Serveastheprimarypointofcontactforworkers'compensationpatients.
  • Collectandverifyrelevantworkers'compensationinsuranceinformation.
  • Ensureproperdocumentationisobtainedforworkers'compensationclaims.
  • Liaisewithinsurancecompanies,employers,andlegalrepresentativesasneeded.
  • Coordinateappointments,treatments,andfollow-upsforworkers'compensationcases.

Qualifications:
  • Provenexperienceinamedicalfrontofficerole,preferablywithexposuretoworkers' compensationprocedures.
  • Clinical Medical Assistant Experience
