YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

Your days will commence with strategic food ordering, ensuring a diverse selection aligns seamlessly with the nutritional requirements of our youth, strictly adhering to Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) guidelines. Collaborating with on-site staff, you'll refine the distribution process, considering the unique dietary needs and preferences of each cottage.

Afternoons will be dedicated to precise inventory management, maintaining accuracy through regular audits of incoming and outgoing items. Your expertise in implementing a first-in, first-out (FIFO) rotation system guarantees freshness is prioritized. Upholding quality control, you'll manage the Kanban tracking board for each cottage, ensuring compliance with ISBE guidelines.

Effective collaboration and communication will define your role as you work closely with program managers, on-site staff, and vendors to address any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing. A

Here's what you need to become our Food Inventory Clerk:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid Illinois driver's license
  • Proof of automobile insurance
  • Familiarity with the CARE practice model and ability to implement daily programming consistent with CARE principles
  • Proficiency in using Excel, Microsoft Teams, and Word as well as Kanban Trackers and FIFO systems
  • Strong understanding of ISBE guidelines

A bachelor's degree in human services or related experience are preferred but not required.
