SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

Our Charlotte Bioenergy Facility is looking for an experienced and team-focused Operating Engineer. This role will analyze production processes, equipment, utilities, waste treatment facilities, and infrastructure for the purpose of improving safety, quality, and productivity by making changes to the equipment design or operational procedures.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Observation and analysis of daily unit production to determine improvements required
  • Interface with other internal technology resources to resolve issues beyond the scope of the Operating Engineering position
  • Conduct formal Root Cause Analysis of events affecting plant production.
  • Analyze work study data and equipment specifications to establish time and production standards
  • Design and perform unit process experiments to optimize operations
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and training criteria for new and modified equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Coordinate efforts with engineering to design and install new equipment
  • Assist in training operators to maximize the safety, quality, and productivity of the operation


WHAT YOU BRING:

 

Education and/or Experience

  • Must have - minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Must have - 1-3 years’ related experience; or combination of education and experience
  • Nice to have - Solid Waste / Wastewater / Biogas / Power Generation/ Industrial specific competences

Technical & Leadership Skills

  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma tools, Statistical Analysis, SPC Tools desirable
  • Ability to understand the long term needs of the customers, both internal and external and be driven to meeting those need
  • Able to make a clear and convincing presentation of ideas in written and verbal forms
  • Must be able to plan and schedule individual workload without close supervision
  • Working knowledge of other engineering disciplines
  • Fluent in English
