Job Responsibilities:

Construction Administration

  • Manage all on-site activities for projects
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager in planning and executing work, and maintaining the construction schedule
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships at all levels
  • Help plan and conduct project progress meetings with owners, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Coordinate with the Owner’s on-site representative in following contract procedures and requirements
  • Coordinate Reed & Reed’s QA/QC testing and documentation, and support the Owner’s QA/QC procedures
  • Manage documentation including:  daily logs, JSA’s, extra work documents, time sheets, material packing slips, safety reports, test data, PO’s, etc.
  • Ensure that all work, whether performed by company forces or by subcontractors, meets the highest standard of quality workmanship
  • Assist Project Manager with change orders
  • Help establish site logistical plans

Personnel

  • Work with Project Manager and Human Resources to staff project and adjust staffing levels as the project progresses
  • Supervise all field employees
  • Conduct yearly review of assigned employees
  • Mentor and support the development of R&R employees

Materials

  • Schedule deliveries with Project Manager and the Transportation Director
  • Receive, inspect and properly store all site deliveries
  • Purchase miscellaneous materials, using purchase orders and cost codes 

Equipment

  • Coordinate with Project Manager to assign company equipment to project
  • Interact with Project Manager to make decisions regarding rental of outside equipment
  • Implement Company equipment policies
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs on project
  • Ensure equipment is used properly and safely, and operated by qualified personnel
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and other superintendents to transfer material, equipment, and personnel among projects 

Subcontractors

  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractor work
  • Work with Project Manager to address and resolve issues with subcontractors 

Safety

  • Responsible for enforcing job site safety with personnel and subcontractors
  • Work with Safety Director and Project Manager to create and implement the project safety plan
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and other specific safety meetings as required 

Qualifications/Requirements:

Professional

  • Direct experience supervising and scheduling self-perform and subcontracted labor forces
  • Able to supervise 1 to 7 subordinates including foremen and field engineers
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and positively motivate our workforce and subcontractors, and interact with the Owner’s representative
  • Consistent quality of self-perform work product delivered by the crews
  • Proven project and safety success on prior projects
  • Possess problem solving skills and a strong work ethic 

  Technical

  • Well versed in all aspects of industrial construction, substation construction and electrical activities associated with the construction of Wind Farms.
  • Knowledgeable of identifying equipment needs and use for activities
  • Review plans and specifications for constructability
  • In-depth knowledge of safety requirements; OSHA 30 hour training course
  • Ability to develop basic construction schedules
  • Create and update 3 Week Look Ahead schedules
  • Good understanding of Reed & Reed’s policies and use of documentation (e.g. time sheets, purchase orders, and cost coding)
  • Understand basics of using Microsoft Office 

  Experience

  • Field construction experience in construction methods, safety, and scheduling
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, or a construction management degree
  • 10-15 years of progressive construction experience with 5+ years in a supervisory role
  • Capable of managing projects between $2M - $30M
