Job Description:
Overview: As a Facility Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks aimed at maintaining a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for employees, clients, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
1. Routine Maintenance:
Perform routine inspections of facilities to identify any issues or potential hazards.
Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Regularly inspect and maintain building systems, such as fire alarms, security systems, and emergency lighting.
2. Repairs and Troubleshooting:
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
3. Facility Upkeep:
Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks, such as painting, carpentry, and drywall repair.
Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of facilities, including common areas, restrooms, and break rooms.
Monitor and replenish supplies necessary for facility maintenance.
4. Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and health standards.
Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
5. Collaboration:
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance tasks.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to prioritize tasks and address maintenance needs.
Assist in the planning and execution of facility improvement projects.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in facility maintenance or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in facility maintenance, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects.
Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
