Taylor Shellfish Farms is one of the largest producers of farmed shellfish in North America.  The company is quickly growing in sustainable shellfish farming with new techniques and innovative growing methods.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

The position of Parts / Inventory Clerk will be based in Shelton, Washington. The Parts / Inventory Clerk will work in the Maintenance Shop at Taylor Shellfish Farms and is responsible for ordering parts, stocking and tracking all inventory using MPULSE maintenance management software.


AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Order all parts for mechanics and filling orders for multiple departments in the company,
  • Keep inventory stocked and up to date,
  • Track and apply all parts and invoices to work orders,
  • Maintains a positive and cohesive work environment,
  • Compliance to safety and regulatory concerns.
  • Receiving freight.


PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

  • Professional conduct with company employees and outside vendors as well as the general public
  • Demonstrate a commitment to all facets of the role; working towards the achievement of the company goals and objectives.
  • Awareness and compliance of policies and procedures and fellow team members within the organization. Provide efficient repair and preventative maintenance of company property.
  • Promote a positive, efficient and cohesive work environment.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience in parts. heavy duty, automotive and marine
  • Must be able to read and understand technical parts manuals and understanding of components. Gas, Diesel and marine.
  • Organization and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently, at times with little direction
  • Strong and sound decision making skills
  • Excellent verbal/written skills,
  • Well organized and detail oriented,
  • Must maintain positive company morale,
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, JOB & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS  

  • Some applicable experience preferred,
  • Must be 18 years or older,
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance,
  • Must complete and maintain in-house forklift, tractor, first aid, safety, and H.R., trainings,
  • Organization and planning skills,
  • Ability to work independently at times with little direction,
  • Strong and sound decision-making skills,
  • Excellent verbal/written skills,
  • Well organized and detail oriented,
  • Must maintain positive company morale.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit, stand and/or walk on uneven ground up to 16 hours per day,
  • Employee is required to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and squat 100% percent of the time,
  • Employee must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. (Occasionally required to exert up to 125 lbs. of force),
  • The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus,
  • Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers,
  • Must be able to use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation,
  • Must have agility and balance to safely climb on machines, boats, etc.,
  • Must be able to drive up to 11 hours per day to multiple locations.
