Job Title: Staff Accountant

Department: Accounting

Reports To: Controller


Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for monthly close processes, payables, assisting with billing, monthly commissions calculations, employee travel expenses, and overall accounting assistance where needed.


In this role, the Staff Accountant ensures employees have a resource as issues arise regarding vendor invoices and payments.


The Staff Accountant must be able to manage subscriptions with a commitment to quality, adhere to departmental metrics, and help develop efficient and accurate practices concerning all accounting transactions.


 Essential Job Functions

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of DASH Prepaid, Enterprise Car Rental, Company Credit Cards, and various debit cards
  • Maintain Concur Expense Reporting System including final approval of employee expense reports daily
  • Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences
  • Assist Controller with overseeing Accounting processes, creating policies/procedures/SOPs, and ensure all deadlines within department are met
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including reconciliations, and coding expenses utilizing department budgets
  • Comply with all accounting policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accounting
  • Review monthly expenses to ensure all transactions have been recognized, including but not limited to Credit Card Transactions, Enterprise Rental account, Dash Cards, and Uber Account
  • Manage monthly subscription, to ensure allocation is correctly recorded
  • Perform other related job functions as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree of Accounting or Finance; or a minimum of three (3) years related experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in Accounts Receivable and Payables
  • Three (3) years of general computer usage with web browsing and using Microsoft Word and Excel (Pivot Tables and V Lookups)
  • One (1) year of customer service experience

 

Preferred Qualifications and KSAs

  • Experience with sales tax, department budget coding, and credit card charges
  • Experience using SharePoint
  • Oil, gas, or energy industry or SaaS business model experience

Travel Requirement (% of 40-hour work week)- Up to 10% (Min. required based on 40-hour work week)

Hybrid Remote (HyR) or Telework Program TWP)- HyR

Shift (note and days)- Various shifts 7am–5:30pm, M-F
