  • SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

Oversee the total compounding operation of Bright Innovation Labs. Responsible for the efficient, accurate and consistent processing of all raw materials needed for the quality production of personal care products manufactured to customer specifications.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Oversee, orchestrate, and successfully coordinate and synchronize the combined activities of the Compounding department involved in mixing/compounding, processing, pre-weighing, inventory control, testing, adjusting and modifying ingredients to carry out and complete the manufacturing process of the many personal care products produced.
  • Continually contact and communicate with compounding department supervisors and staff; Production Manager, Production Supervisors, Quality Director, R&D Director and other involved personnel as needed to ensure production of top-quality finished goods.
  • Check and review daily production totals, compile reports to managers and supervisors
  • Supervise the inspections made by staff of all compounding equipment.
  • Responsible for consistent observance of GMP, SOP and Safety Procedures.
  • Ensure all OSHA, Safety Regulations, Labor Laws, and other governmental statutes are followed and obeyed.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled employee training encompassing GMP, SOP, SAFETY and cross training to expand employee capabilities.
  • Ensure team has clear expectations defined and hold the team accountable to expectations.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directly supervises: Supervisors and leads in the Compounding Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
  • This is a full-time position. The base days and hours are Monday through Friday, eight (8) hours per day depending on shift assigned. Core schedule: 6:30am-3:30pm. Flexible schedule, weekends and off-hours as business needs dictate
  • TRAVEL

No travel is expected for this position.


  • REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Chemistry or other similar technical area
  • Minimum 3-5 years in a management role in a complex manufacturing environment, ideally in ingredient mixing
  • Previous experience in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, or other FDA cGMP regulated industry

  • PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Bilingual a plus.

  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
    1. English language and knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

  • WORK AUTHORIZATION
    1. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. as a pre-condition of employment.
