If you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, there's currently an opening through Robert Half for Staff Accountant. Based in the Wall, New Jersey area, this exciting is set in an engaging work place where hard work is rewarded. The duties of Staff Accountant include fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and the preparation of monthly and year-end closings. The majority of time spent will be dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You'll also have responsibility over various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.


How you will make an impact


- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation


- Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision


- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner


- Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation


- Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules


- Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments


- Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP


- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed


- Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management


- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

- Spreadsheet and database capabilities

- Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

- Skilled with ERP systems

- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

- Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

- 1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- Journal entries experience preferred

- Month end closings experience desired
