Position Overview:
As an Elementary School Psychologist, you will play a vital role in addressing the social, emotional, and academic needs of our young learners. Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administrators, you will provide valuable insights, support, and interventions to help our students thrive. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, offering counseling services, participating in IEP development, and contributing to the overall well-being of the school community.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral strengths and challenges.
- Offer individual and group counseling services to students to support their social and emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop effective behavior management strategies for students.
- Contribute to the development and review of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and provide support during challenging situations.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment by working closely with other school professionals.
- Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in the field of school psychology.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- State licensure or certification as a School Psychologist in Illinois.
- Professional Educator License in Illinois.
- In-depth knowledge of psychological principles and their application in an elementary school setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in conducting psychological assessments and interpreting results accurately.
- Experience in counseling and crisis intervention will be highly valued.
- A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and academic growth of elementary school students.
