**Job Summary:**

Gecko Hospitality is assisting our client in their search for a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join their small corporate finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to grow their accounting skills. The Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for managing general ledger (GL) and accounts payable (AP) functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all transactions.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Maintain and manage all aspects of the general ledger, including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, and ledger reconciliation.
- Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial procedures and internal controls.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements, providing detailed analysis as needed.
- Support the Director of Accounting in ad hoc projects and financial analysis to enhance business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality or real estate industries.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
