Sr. Accountant

Robert Half is a Senior Accountant to perform essential accounting functions, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely financial reporting. This role involves month-end closing, budgeting support, payroll processing, account analysis, and fixed asset management. This contract-to-hire role is fully on-site in Globe, AZ!

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end closing process, ensuring correct transaction posting.
• Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, worksheets, and schedules.
• Assist in budget preparation and management.
• Process payroll for all City personnel, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Reconcile accounts payable invoices for payment.
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and identify discrepancies.
• Track and reconcile fixed assets.
• Reconcile bank statements and prepare journal entries.
• Assist with audits (internal and external).
• Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures.
• Supervise accounting staff.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Required

• Post-secondary accounting coursework.
• 2+ years of experience as an accounting professional.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Accrual Accounting experience.
• Proficiency in a financial software systems.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience in municipal government accounting.
