Role: UI/UX Designer (Mobile Applications) Location: We are seeking candidate local to VA/DC/MD area or those willing to relocate, this is a hybrid role. The role is unable to sponsor at the moment due to nature of work. Lateral Insights is seeking a UI/UX Designer for the development of new mobile and web applications. The designer would have an ability to create artifacts that illustrate how an app will look and work (e.g., wireframes, user flows, visual design comps, paper and interactive prototypes). Someone with a strong understanding of interface design principles; navigation and architecture; and typography, colour, and layout principles. What are we looking for: 5-10 years’ experience designing web and mobile experiences with an understanding of responsive design, iOS and Android design systems. 4+ years working in user experience delivering mobile-first applications 5+ years ‘experience and working knowledge of UI prototyping tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, InVision, etc. Hands on experience with Sketch and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of applications. HTML is a plus Understanding of iOS native and web applications is a must have Candidate should be experienced in research methods, or prototyping, or wireframing, and user acceptance testing. Figma/Adobe design expert Familiarity with standards-compliant web design and the capabilities and constraints provided by CSS, JavaScript libraries, mobile app frameworks like flutter/reactnative etc., Experience using user-testing applications Be able to lead projects without support in a startup environment Very collaborative Experience working within agile team environments Portfolio / Sample of work What you would do in the role: - Prototyping and Interface Design: Develop user interfaces for impactful products and services, collaborating with researchers, designers, client stakeholders, and key partners. - UX Design: Collaborate with fellow designers, user researchers, product managers, and engineers to tackle challenges and craft user experiences for our customers. - UI Design: Create visually appealing designs and work alongside our design system team to develop and maintain a dynamic, shareable pattern library. - Utilize Data for Informed Design: Drive design decisions and assess their effectiveness through data analysis and research. - Communicate design concepts to stakeholders and customers. - User Testing: Conduct user testing using third-party software to gather insights from customers. - Stakeholder Management: Demonstrate strong communication and management skills in interacting with stakeholders. - Ensure Quality Deliverables: Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure high-quality designs are implemented in production.
