​Job Description: 

Position Summary: 

As a member of the EH&W team the RN supports clinical activities in addition to or in the absence of the Director. The RN is responsible for coordinating annual influenza vaccination and other special programs under the direction of the EH&W Director and is responsible for clinical oversight of medical assistant.


Employees are expected to work consistently to demonstrate the mission, vision, beliefs, core values and standards of behavior of the organization. 

  • Responsible for providing clinical support by assisting the director and all staff in maintaining health information, data, and facility security and safety.
  • Supports preventative health care initiatives and infection control measures by tracking employee status and immunizations for vaccine preventable diseases and administering adult immunizations to assure compliance.
  • Conducts pre-employment screenings including drug screening, vital signs, vision and hearing, immunization, and evaluation of pre-existing conditions and the need for appropriate accommodation.
  • Assists in return to work medical clearance and reports work status to appropriate parties to assure appropriate return with or without accommodation.
  • Assists in work related injury/illness management including workers' compensation filing and documentation.
  • Performs fitness for duty assessment and referral as necessary to assure a safe work environment.
  • Assists in the coordination of the annual influenza vaccination program with Employee Health staff, in collaboration with Foundation Medical Practice and hospital nursing units, to assure compliance with this mandatory program.


  • Problem solves, provides direction and guidance to departmental managers and colleagues and provides direct supervision, oversight and coordination of per diem staff and MA.
  • Assists in tracking employee’s status for immunizations, conducts monthly surveillance for annual TB symptom questionnaires, FIT testing, and annual OSHA Respiratory questionnaires and other screening programs.
  • Conducts pre-placement screenings, reviews health history, evaluates pre-existing conditions and the need for appropriate accommodations per ADA guidelines, conducts physical assessments and educates new employees about FMLA/Leave Return to Work policies.
  • Performs return-to-work medical clearance and interprets medical clearance notes as appropriate and coordinates ergonomics and ADA process with employee and discusses potential accommodations with Supervisor and HR partners.
  • Performs Fitness for Duty assessments by reviewing and completing appropriate paperwork, assuring appropriate testing, and assists in follow-up activities and data management.
  • Contributes and promotes Wellness Program offerings
  • Promotes safety awareness to various departments and communicates suggestions for safer practices when appropriate (i.e. safer needle devices, wearing personal protection, use of safe patient handling equipment, etc.)
  • Coordinates and participates in the annual influenza vaccination program.

Work Shift: 

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 7:30am-5:00pm
