Job Description
Team Dispatchers are responsible for the scheduling, management of drivers’ daily loads and providing excellent customer service. Bilingual English and Spanish is highly desirable. This position keeps accurate records of the actions they take. Team Dispatchers adjust to last-minute changes as well as adjust to a constantly shifting transportation environment. Our dispatchers are expected to be excellent communicators and committed to being service-oriented. Dispatchers must ensure proper and fair treatment to our drivers and be able to effectively communicate with other company departments.
Team Dispatcher Responsibilities:
Coordinate, schedule, and track the loads for 40+ drivers to ensure maximum efficiency, profitability, and customer service
· Work with all appropriate parties to ensure all parties involved get what they are promised
· Communicate with and coach drivers constantly throughout the day to answer questions, solve problems, and keep them motivated
· Communicate with other coworkers about upcoming and current whereabouts of trucks without loads to keep drivers loaded, rolling, and profitable
· Handle customer’s/driver requests and complaints
· Maintain accurate driver information in the system, for example, ETA’s, and special time off requests
· Assign trips to drivers to assure adequate disbursement of trips/loads between all assigned routes
· Answer incoming phone calls from customers and drivers
· Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
· Responsible for providing accurate records for customer billing and driver pay
· Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
· Leadership experience managing drivers and coordinating
· Great communication skills and the ability to respect drivers and understand expectations
· A minimum of 1 year dispatching experience is preferred but not required
· Prior Electronic Logging Devices and driver Hours Of Service knowledge is desirable but not required
· Excellent computer and communication skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 annually DOE
Schedule:
- 8-10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday, alternating weekends
