Job Description

**Looking to train to do the requirements of the CNC Operator.**

Produces machined parts from a variety of material and ensures a high standard of quality is maintained by setting up and operating an assortment of machining equipment

All while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensures designated equipment is in proper working condition (hand tools, power tools, etc.).
  • Effectively communicates with department supervisors.
  • Read and interpret computer generated work orders
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and other specifications
  • Operate assigned machines, make set-ups, compute machine speeds and feeds
  • Improves part quality and production efficiency by editing and upgrading existing programs on machines as directed
  • Make necessary mathematical computations as required per assignment
  • Inspects parts, visually and dimensionally to assure conformance to requirements
  • Troubleshoots and corrects problems in a timely manner
  • Ensures waste is disposed of properly by using the appropriate equipment and by putting the waste in the correct receptacle
  • Assists in achieving the goals of the Company by performing other duties as assigned

Information and Activities Critical to Process Quality

·Machined Product

o Scans the machining step open in the shop traveler, then scans each piece as it is being complete, and upon completion of all the pieces scans the machining step closed

o Fills out the inspection reports (sampling inspection for CNC machines)

o Ensures that the heat numbers and quantities are correct

o Notifies the Production Supervisor or QC Inspector when a nonconformance is found

Department Responsibilities

·QMS:

o Follow Quality Policy and Department Processes.

o Understands the process of identifying and segregating non-conforming product from good material.

·Safety:

o All necessary PPE required

o Attend daily safety meetings

o Ongoing responsibility to maintain a clear and safe work environment.

o Always aware of potential hazards in surrounding area

Qualifications

·Speak and read English. Bilingual Spanish preferred.

·3+ years PVF industry experience.

·Ability to read and understand industry specifications, charts, and tables.

·High school diploma or GED.

·Must have average reading, writing, and mathematical skills.

·Able to stand and operate a variety of equipment as assigned.

·Requires a high level of attention to detail.

·Capable of lifting 35 lbs. with back support.
