Carpentry Foreman

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills 

• Fluent in English & Spanish

• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence

• Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives

• Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and people skills

• 3 years in commercial construction

• Reliable commute to projects in Maryland, Washington DC, VA  (Required)

Responsibilities

• The Trim/Rough Carpentry Foreman will coordinate and schedule the activities of carpenters who construct, renovate, and maintain structures of wood and other building materials and build and install interior finishing in commercial, and industrial buildings

• Provide on-site leadership for project teams by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhere to their responsibilities and hit project milestones

• Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes

• Resolve work problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity

• Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence

• Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization

• Train or arrange for training of employees

• Ensure standards for safe working conditions are ensure they are being followed

• Prepare schedules and other reports

• May also supervise, co-ordinate, and schedule the activities of related apprentices, helpers, and laborers
