Steward

Job Overview: We are seeking meticulous and hardworking individuals to fill the role of steward. Stewards are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas, as well as assisting with basic food preparation tasks and supporting kitchen staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils by hand or using dishwashing equipment.
• Ensure that all dishes and utensils are cleaned and sanitized according to established standards and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including cleaning work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.
• Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and dispose of waste properly.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling and chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling food trays.
• Stock and replenish supplies, such as soap, towels, and cleaning products, in designated areas.
• Assist kitchen staff with receiving and storing deliveries, rotating stock, and maintaining inventory levels.
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a steward or dishwasher in a hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry heavy objects as needed.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
