SunGold Foods Inc., a division of Red River Commodities, creates roasted ingredients and food products to meet our customers’ specific formulations and provide them with custom packaging solutions. We are currently seeking a Lead Quality Assurance Technician for our production location near Horace, ND and have a variety of shifts available.

1st Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Job Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs product and equipment verification activities.
  • Prepares various production paperwork.
  • Facilitates quality technicians and duties as needed.
  • Selects products and ingredients for tests at specified stages in production process.
  • Tests these products and ingredients for variety of organoleptic qualities and allergens
  • Interprets gathered data against formulas, standards, and specifications to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data and communicates results with production to identify the product as within control limits, encroaching control limits, trending negatively or outside of specifications.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Determine inferior product and place the product on hold until it can be retested and dispositioned.
  • Prepares graphs, charts of data, or enters data into computer for analysis.
  • To work in a way that complies with food safety codes and keeps all product safe and GFCO complaint.
  • Oversee weekly, monthly, and quarterly verification activities in addition to line verifications when not covering QA Tech vacations.

Qualifications:

  • Relatable degree or minimum of one years of related lab/QA experience
  • Familiar with industrial food manufacturing or edible food production
  • Ability to understand Quality Standard Operating Procedures and Sanitation Operating Procedures
  • Understanding of FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and knowledge of HACCP Allergen Risk Management
  • Must be time oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment and work alone.
  • Computer knowledge and data entry skills including Excel, Word, and Microsoft related programs.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information and develops alternative solutions using this information.
  • Includes appropriate people in decision-making process, is willing to make final decisions and can support and explain reasoning for the decisions.
  • Develops and implements workable plans; effectively communicates changes to the plans.
  • Ability to stand for duration of shift and lift to 50 lbs.
  • Able to meet productivity standards, have accuracy and work independently.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
