Phosphate Cleaner/ Powder Coater

**Job Summary

**

We are seeking a skilled Phosphate Cleaner/Powder Coater to join our team at our facility in Colorado Springs, CO. As a Phosphate Cleaner/Powder Coater, you will be responsible for cleaning, prepping, racking parts, loading and unloading racks in preparation for powder coating on a variety of metal products. This position has the potential to be a back up to mixing and applying powders per manufacturer specifications.**¨NBSP;

**Essential Functions

**

• Responsible for cleaning, prepping, and racking parts for powder coating.
• In charge of washing parts using a steam cleaning system.
• Responsible for moving coated racks of material into curing ovens where proper temperatures and cycle times for curing will be monitored.
• Identify proper powder colors and maintain adequate inventory levels.
• Adhere to aggressive production schedules.
• Assist teammates in other nearby functional areas when required.
• Communicate with supervisor on daily schedule requirements.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand requirements such as masking and plugging.
• Adhere to all required health and safety mandates.
• Maintain application equipment in working order.

**Required Education and Experience

**

• Must be able to pass annual pulmonary testing.
• High school diploma required.
• College courses in painting disciplines are helpful but not required.
• Prior powder experience preferred but not required.

**Work Environment

**

This job operates in the production coating area. Exposure to moisture, dust, and heat is normal. The job is primarily performed in a wash booth while standing and using arms at extended lengths. Candidates must be comfortable wearing respirators, hoods, or full suits for extended periods of time in hot and wet conditions.

**Schedule

**

Advantage runs 3 shifts. Currently looking to staff SHIFT 2 which runs from 2:15PM to 10:45PM.

**Compensation

**

The rate of compensation for this position is based on skills and experience level and ranges from $17-$19 hourly.
