Job Description
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate individual to fulfill the dual role of Patient Experience-Referral Coordinator. In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive exceptional care and have smooth access to the services they need. You will be responsible for managing patient inquiries, coordinating referrals to specialty care providers, and proactively addressing patient concerns to enhance their overall experience.

Job Duties:
               • Answer telephones; Screen and transfer calls to the appropriate recipient quickly and efficiently.
               • Identify emergent calls and route them to the appropriate team members.
               • Communicate as needed with multiple departments to ensure appropriate workflows are being used.
               • Maintain patient confidentiality, including HIPAA and practice specific compliance guidelines. 
               • Referring provider outreach: develop and maintain excellent working relationships with outbound                               referral sources as well as establish and foster electronic communications by way of EHR-to-EHR                         direct messaging and other online or electronic formats and/or platforms to achieve maximum                               efficiencies in the outbound referral processes.
               • Reviewing the referral to ensure appropriate diagnosis coding and medical documents accompany                             the request.
               • Verifying in-network status of the referred-to physician.
               • Verifying patient eligibility with their medical insurance plan.

Qualifications:
               • At least one year in customer service.
               • At least one year in a medical office.
               • Oncology experience preferred.
               • Experience handling and managing clinical.
               • Proficient computer skills.
               • Previous experience working within an electronic health record system.
               • Previous experience working with referrals and understand the life-cycle of the referral process.
               • Strives daily to provide exemplary care to COA’s patients.
