Summary/Objective:  

 

The successful Staff Accountant is an individual with accounting and finance experience to complement a dynamic, fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will be an equal contributor to the department during month end close, general ledger reconciliation, financial statement preparation, financial analysis, project accounting, and maintaining accounting procedures. The individual must be highly motivated, a self-starter, and work in a fast-paced office environment. He/she will handle daily administrative tasks ranging from simple to highly complex. Strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to “go the extra mile” are a few of the key factors to succeed in this position.

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Prepare journal entries as well as review, analyze, and reconcile various balance sheet accounts monthly, including bank reconciliations
  • Use excel and V-lookups to reconcile key accounts
  • Review and present accurate monthly job profits – review job costing for business operations
  • Prepare project entries and work closely with FP&A for project accuracy
  • Establish and maintain an efficient electronic filing system.
  • Other duties as needed
  • Ad Hoc Projects

 

Job-Related Qualifications:

 

  • Four-year degree in Accounting is required
  • CPA candidate is preferred
  • D365 Software Experience is preferred
  • A construction background is a plus
  • Job Costing or GL accounting is a plus
  • 0 - 2 years of Full Accounting Cycle (AR, AP, Billings, Payroll, GL, and Fixed Assets)
  • Strong computer skills are required. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Hardworking, energetic, and highly motivated self-starter must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines and juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds with poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials.
  • Must be detail-oriented and accurate in work performance
