Maintenance

S&W Wholesale Foods is Louisiana’s leading independent food service supplier and is on the move. We are searching for an experienced Maintenance Warehouse to join our growing team. This position provides leadership and supervision of the day shift operations functions (maintenance). S&W is a family-owned, customer-oriented company and we align our progress with your success. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Creating maintenance schedules
• Conducting site inspections and identifying areas requiring extra maintenance work.
• Follows safe work practices.
• Performing minor on-site repairs.
• Scheduling contractors for major repairs as required.
• Discussing maintenance concerns with the employer and communicating these to upper management.
• Staying on-call and responding to emergency maintenance needs.
• Developing maintenance budgets.
• Controlling and monitoring inventory.
• Coordinating work performed by outside vendors.
• Keeping any record requirements for Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.
• Provides coaching, guidance, management and direction to the team.
• Provides strong leadership in safety, performance management, employee development and training, inventory management, and problem solving.
• Works collaboratively as a member of the management team to continuously improve the operating procedures.
• Provides superior customer service and excellent financial return to the company.
• Ability to multitask.
• Performing other duties, as assigned.

• Must be proficient using MS Office.
• Must be able to handle administrative duties expected of a manager such as hiring, firing, performance evaluations and more.

• Able to work weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
• Able to lift 60lbs.
• Experience in performance management and effective leadership.
• Must pass pre and post-employment drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiries.

Education and Experience:

• At least 2 years or more of Supervisory/Lead experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to routinely lift and move objects weighing 40-60 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stay on your feet for long periods of time and work open-ended shifts until all work is completed for the night.
• Ability to work in a cold environment and withstand cold temperatures.
