We are looking for an analytical and conscientious Accountant to support our Finance and Accounting team as we bring this dream to life. The Accountant will be a key member of the organization, supporting employees and functions across all offices with a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. The Accountant will exercise a strong attention to detail with strong analytical, and organizational skills, and High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.

Reports to: Financial Controller

Location: Miami, FL

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions, including posting journal entries, ensuring that all expenses, receivables, funding requests, debt schedules, and other transactions are posted
• Preparation of financial statements and reports for multiple entities, including consolidated reporting and intercompany eliminations
• Assist with setup and transfer of data for new accounting system
• Timely reconciliation of bank accounts monthly
• Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records per company policies
• Posting and maintaining financial transactions in accounting software
• Assist with month-end closing process
• Monthly management reporting and commentary reconciling budget vs. actuals
• Provide accounting and clerical support to the finance department
• Monitor and track construction spend against development budgets
• File monthly sales and use tax reports with the Department of Revenue
• Liaise with and provide necessary financials and documentation to tax advisors relating to US tax returns, 1099s, and K1s
• Assist with accounts receivable as it relates to tenant leases and invoicing respective tenants and CAM (where applicable)
• Develop understanding of tenant lease and lease obligations so that all billed rents are collected in full and on-time
• Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to perform filing and recordkeeping tasks
• Knowledge of financial statement preparation
• High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
• Excel skills, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and use financial functions
• Ability to performance financial analysis and interpret financial data
• The ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize work effectively Accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills and team-oriented

Education and Experience:

• 4+ years of work experience in Accounting role, public accounting experience is preferred.
• Real estate experience is preferred.
• Experience working with accounting software; QuickBooks experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
