Cashier (Aramingo Ave)

Key Skills: excellent customer service, positive attitude, flexible and willing to learn, accurate cash handling, prior experience a plus but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists customers waiting for check out in the Marketplace store.
• Welcome customers with a friendly greeting.
• Scans items, requests price checks, honors appropriate coupons, collects payment and gives change as appropriate.
• Responsible for maintaining a balanced cash register drawer at end of shift.
• Must bag items for customer.
• Answer questions and help resolve issues when they arise.
• Follow pre-determined script (if applicable) to collect information from customers.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Knowledgeable of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the grocery/retail industry.
• Understands basic instructions and pre-established guidelines.
• Works under immediate supervision.

Abilities Required:

Standing for prolonged periods of time, sitting, walking, speaking, seeing, hearing, bending, and reaching. Sufficient dexterity required for keyboarding. Must be able to move products up to 20 pounds occasionally.
