Job Description

Summary: The Event Technology Technician will provide audiovisual support for corporate meetings, in-house training sessions, conferences, social events, and expo halls. This position will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting multimedia equipment. The typical day will involve the setup and break down of equipment before and after events.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment as listed in the daily list of events.
  • Respond to all inquiries for service needs in a timely manner, ensuring exceptional guest service.
  • Monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day.
  • Work together with sales and other teams to ensure the seamless execution of Event Technology
  • Maintains a positive relationship with all clients and the hotel staff through effective communication.
  • Act as an extension of the sales team to upsell and provide superior solutions.
  • Make immediate decisions to provide the guest with a solution without any downtime in meetings.
  • Provide expertise and work with cutting-edge Event Technology conferencing equipment.
  • Maintain an inventory of available audiovisual equipment, including reports of out-of-service equipment and cosmetically acceptable to be client facing.
  • Act as an extension of the leadership team to help identify continuous improvement processes for seamless guest experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1-3 years' experience with audio visual technology.
  • Technical AV certifications such as CTS a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of state-of-the-art Event Technology to support large scale events; such as understanding components and signal flow, knowledge of industry terminology and hotel systems, understanding of integrating house video and audio systems with additional technology as required by event.
  • Strong technical knowledge of audio-visual systems, including sound systems, projectors, lighting, and video equipment.
  • Proficiency in using Event Technology software and applications for presentations, recordings, and streaming.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with guests, employees, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast- paced environment.
  • Guest focused mindset with a commitment to delivering first-class experiences.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • Professional image is required.
  • Must carry themselves professionally and provide exceptional Guest Service at all times.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Possess experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Proactive mindset to anticipate and support changes in the business.
  • Ability to read and follow AV system flow diagrams and support documentation.

Work Conditions:

  • In person, onsite at the venue.
  • Working times will include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Most work will be performed indoors but will occasionally work outside for special events.
