Front Office/Medical Assistant-Diverse Care Clinic

Description:JOB SUMMARY

The CNA/front desk, under general supervision, will perform patient care duties including answering phones, making appointments, and insurance authorizations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

Work as a team to ensure patients are seen and processed in a timely manner and according to the organization's protocol and procedures. This would include verification of the patient's identity and ensuring all orders are placed in the EMR system before the visit begins, and ensure a high degree of customer service is practiced with each patient. Assists NP in prepping patient for exam and attends to patient's physical wellbeing during the exam/procedure process.

Complete blood draws, collect specimens as ordered, obtain lab samples, fill out lab forms when necessary. Follow universal precautions to protect self and patients, educate patient and family regarding the plan of treatment or procedure, stock procedure rooms with supplies, take responsibility of medical equipment cleaning, quality control and sterilization in accordance with OSHA guidelines.

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent CNA Certification required Phlebotomy certification and CPR certification preferred 3-6 years' experience in a healthcare environment preferred
