Medication Tech / Certified Medication Aide - CMA

What is the Medication Tech/CMA experience?

In this role you will be under the guidance of the Director of Nursing Services and Supervisory Nurse. You will be expected to:

• Administer prescribed medications to residents using approved methods, including various routes such as oral, topical, and inhalant.
• Obtain resident vital signs and report abnormalities, when necessary.
• Utilize the "6 Rights/3 Checks" protocol.
• Accurately document medication administration in residents' electronic charts and eMAR.
• Calibrate capillary blood glucose (CBG) machines; obtain and document CBG readings.
• Perform and document a narcotic count at the beginning and end of each shift, reporting any discrepancies.
• Ensure timely medication orders and assume leadership duties when needed in the absence of the Charge Nurse.
• Other duties as assigned.

What are the job qualifications?

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years preferred experience as a Resident Assistant/Caregiver or CNA.
• Experience dispensing medications in Assisted Living, Residential Care Facility, or Long-Term Care setting preferred.
• Maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Maintain Food Handler's Card.
• Able to read, write, and document appropriately.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Able to prioritize multi-demands using initiative, good judgment, and a professional attitude.
• Must consent to and pass a criminal background check.

• Pay range: $18.75 - $25.00, depending on experience + Shift Differentials
