Job Description

Reports to: Resource Coordinator
Accountable to: Resource Coordinator and Community Schools Director
Communicates with: Resource Coordinators, School Staff, and Program Instructors
Informs: Resource Coordinator and School-based staff members
Status: 12 Hours/Week, Part-Time
Job Summary:
Enlace Chicago partners with nine neighborhood public schools in Little Village to transform them into fun, safe, and innovative community-driven learning environments for youth and adults during after school hours. A Community School extends the walls of a traditional school into the community by coordinating classes, resources, events and opportunities for academic acceleration and intervention, social emotional development, arts and cultural enrichment, sports and outdoor programming, summer youth opportunities, middle school to high school transition, post-secondary success and career exploration, health and wellness and adult education with family leadership opportunities.
The Security Guard is responsible for supervising the building during after school hours, 3:45pm to 6pm Monday through Friday. The security guard is expected to tend to the main entrance and supervise any students entering or exiting the building.
We are hiring an Affter School Security to join our Community Schools team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitors security cameras and student activity during afterschool programming.
(if access is allowed from School administration)
- Tends to the front desk and doorbell.
- Provides a genuine interest and concern for the wellbeing and success of all youth.
- Reflects no ethnic, racial, religious, political, or gender bias.
- Supports the Resource Coordinator in any violence prevention or intervention conflict.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experienced supervising educational buildings.
- Knowledge of the Little Village community and Cardenas community is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Must be willing to become a mandated reporter.
- Relevant experience working with youth.
