The Hinderer Motor Company is a family-owned company that operates a group of award-winning automotive and powersports dealerships, service departments, and a collision center. Established in 1991, it is headquartered in Heath, OH, and serves clients throughout Central Ohio.

The Express Service Shop Foreman will ensure that repairs are performed correctly and efficiently by qualified technicians and that the Express Service Department maintains a consistently high level of customer satisfaction. The Shop Foreman will plan, organize, lead, and control the flow of service work through the Express Service Department in a professional, timely manner while ensuring quality repairs. Essential Duties

  • Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
  • Performing quality control.
  • Completing the MPI within the first 15 minutes of the car being pulled inside.
  • Assists technicians in developing their skills.
  • Provides training on recommended maintenance and performing proper Multi Point Inspection(s).
  • Ensures the job process is always followed, every vehicle every time.
  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.
  • Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all express service department staff.
  • Perform corrective actions as needed, always involve Service Manager and fill out proper documentation.
  • Monitors and controls the performance of the department using appropriate reports, tracking systems and surveys.
  • Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
  • Holds weekly department meetings.
  • Facilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends employees to appropriate training schools as needed.
  • Ensures that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities. (C-TEC)
  • Prioritizes and controls all comebacks to ensure proper and prompt attention.
  • Maintains a clean work area.
  • Maintains a professional appearance for all Express Service Technicians.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Ensures that all department employees receive appropriate manufacturer training (Interactive Network Modules, must be completed before working on any vehicles).
  • Conducts regular performance reviews for all technicians in accordance with dealership guidelines.
  • Provides technical support for technicians when necessary.
  • May perform periodic vehicle road tests to quality-check work performed.
  • Handles all customer complaints within 24 hours, informing Service Manager of results.
  • Manages department performance using tools through DealerTrack, Interactive Network, Netchex, efficiency and productivity control, comeback reports,
  • Monitors shop condition, including cleanliness, safety, and the condition of shop equipment. Reports problems to the Service Manager or maintenance
  • Attends managers’ meetings as requested.
  • Recruits, hires, schedules, and motivates qualified service technicians.
  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.
  • Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all express service department staff.
  • Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
  • Maintains safe work environment.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Able to pass a drug screen and background check.
