We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee the set-up and operations of our new distribution center located in Jessup, Pennsylvania!


The Distribution Center Manager will play a pivotal role in strategizing and executing plans to optimize productivity, ensure operational efficiency, and uphold safety standards within the facility. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Management:

  • Directly manages all aspects of warehousing, light manufacturing, distribution, packaging, and transportation operations, including inbound and outbound product flows.
  • Ensures operational excellence across all warehouse areas, including efficient utilization of warehouse management systems and related equipment, inventory management, layout optimization, and maintenance of a clean and organized facility.
  • Supervises workflow scheduling, monitors productivity and quality, troubleshoots operational issues, and ensures timely and accurate deliveries to meet customer satisfaction goals.
  • Oversees relationships with transportation partners for outbound shipments, reviewing carrier performance to optimize logistics processes.
  • Plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of inventory items, ensuring adherence to established procedures and standards.
  • Leads efforts in product picking and shipping to maximize accuracy and on-time performance.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to address operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy through regular physical counts and reconciliation with data storage systems.
  • Prepares and submits reports to stakeholders as necessary to provide insights into operational performance and identify areas for improvement.


Financial Management:

  • Contributes to the distribution center’s financial objectives by optimizing operational processes, reducing costs, and improving efficiency.
  • Monitors and analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, inventory management, and operational expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborates with senior management to develop and implement strategies for maximizing profitability and achieving financial targets.


People Management:

  • Leads and supervises a team of 10-20 direct and indirect reports, fostering a diverse and high-performing workforce.
  • Develops and retains talented associates, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and managing labor costs effectively.
  • Provides ongoing support, training, and coaching to staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback to team members, recognizing achievements and addressing areas for improvement.
  • Manages employee scheduling, timekeeping, and attendance to ensure operational coverage and compliance with company policies.
  • Fosters a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.



EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of management experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics operations.
  • Proficiency in high-volume, fast-paced distribution, warehouse, and transportation environments.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and communication styles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, warehouse management systems, and other relevant software tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work a flexible schedule to meet operational needs.
  • Forklift certification and experience with reach truck operations/electric pallet jack preferred.
