Primary Purpose: Install wiring and electrical components to garbage truck assembly.
General Description: Install minor bolt-on assemblies, occasionally set garbage truck bodies on chassis, and add electrical components/wiring.

Essential Duties

  • Prepare wire looms, mount lights and switches, and wire finished product in an efficient manner to maximize production.
  • Maintain accuracy of product by following specifications, work orders, and known practices.
  • Inspect and test own work for function and appearance.
  • Maintain a level of inventory that will minimize production delays and order needed components through Purchasing.
  • Understand and work with electrical wiring, specifically 12 Volt DC.
  • Operate forklift to move around garbage truck assemblies.
  • Set garbage truck assembly on chassis using a crane.
Other Duties
  • Good communication.
  • Use math skills and have a good understanding of fractions.
  • Read and understand schematics and technical documents.
  • Clean and maintain an orderly work area.
  • Add reflectors to cover sheets.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner and report hazards associated with the equipment or its operation to the Safety Department and Maintenance Department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience: 1 year preferred with 12 Volt DC, forklift operation, and manual/power tools
