Job Description
The Bryan County Board of Commissioners is now accepting applications for a Full Time Accounting Clerk in the Finance Department.


The purpose of this position is to be responsible for assisting with daily operations of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions of the Finance Department. The accounting clerk’s responsibilities include providing accounting and clerical support to include scanning, data entry, daily cash receipts and deposits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Obtain and maintain an understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

Assist accounts payable with reviewing vendor statements, invoices and performing data entry.

Assist with scanning of accounts payable documentation and PDF merging.

Assist accounts receivable with cash receipts and deposits.

Assist with processing county-wide PCard receipts and posting transactions to general ledger.

Assist with generating requisitions and purchase orders.

Support vendor and department inquiries regarding invoices and payments.


Punctuality and attendance are essential.


ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

Performs other related duties as required.


SKILLS/ABILITIES

Ability to adapt to change while maintaining a positive attitude.

Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Outlook, intermediate level in Excel, and Adobe.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good verbal communication skills.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a combination of specialized education and training in the field of work. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
