The Facilities and Maintenance Manager for Cytiva is responsible for supervising the Facilities, Maintenance, and Metrology resources to result in stable and 100% availability of Facility/Utility infrastructure services and Production Equipment to support Production/Operations activities.

This position is part of the Operations department located in Pensacola, FL, and will be on-site. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you will do:

  • Management of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities of production equipment and plant utility systems (electricity, water, sewer, natural gas) to provide 100% within specification uptime to Production operations. Troubleshoot equipment failures to Root Cause and sustain countermeasures
  • Management of utility services including Monitoring utility (electricity, water, sewer, natural gas, telecom) services, raw usage, rate, normalized for production usage to identify patterns and areas to target for improvement initiatives
  • Management of Facility waste removal including Non-hazardous waste removal of multiple waste streams & Recycled waste removal stream, and of Housekeeping services with respect to specific services to maintain environmental clean production and laboratory areas.
  • Lead and Facilitate Kaizen events and develop team members on the Lean DBS while becoming the champion of tools such as TPM, Standard Work, 5S, SMED and others. Use Data driven approach to maintenance to prevent downtime. Implement automation improvements to increase equipment reliability and work with cross functional teams in order to improve process capability, remove waste, and improve product quality.
  • Support Value Streams as required in the resolution of high priority production and quality issues. Lead technical teams and assign tasks with clear priorities aligned with business needs. Partner with the Quality organization to identify and resolve systemic quality issues using DBS principles to ensure improvements are implemented in a compliant and sustained manner.
  • Develop and manage budget for large Capital Equipment deployment to support expansions and capacity increase. Interface with Advanced Engineering and R&D as required to gain needed support and also provide support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who you are:

  • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals as typically acquired by completion of a Bachelor of Science/Arts (BS/BA) in engineering, technology, or other technical discipline or equivalent field. Experience in managing technical teams in highly regulated industry such as Life Science or Finished Medical Device.
  • 10 or more years of progressive experience including leadership roles in the following functional areas: Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, Process/Quality Engineering, or Plant Operations
  • Strong program/project management, leadership, team building, and mentoring skills. Ability to prioritize activities and to remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills (Six Sigma Green Belt or willingness to achieve highly preferred). Must have the ability to analytically evaluate data and information, use progressive problem-solving methods and implement solutions. Including the review all available production data (product performance, process capability, product cost, etc.) and compare to industry standards, customer expectations and competitors
  • To work safely and to align with the company's health, safety and environmental (EHS) policies and procedures, while leading various safety improvement projects towards OSHA PSM certification.
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP's) and procedures, ISO9000 and other regulatory requirements and how they impact manufacturing.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Technical management of products and processes with knowledge and ability to apply standards and codes published by such authorities as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements preferred
  • Proficiency executing/implementing Design of Experiments (DOE's), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Ishikawa Diagrams, optimization, and other systematic tools.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
