Summary
  • Perform inspection processes for manufacturing and secondary ops to ensure conformance to specifications. Proficient with a broad variety of inspection equipment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspection (using required inspection tools) and collect associated data for both component and assembly level product.
  • Record inspection results accurately on designated reports/forms.
  • Interpret print requirements to include (but not limited to) material specifications, surface finishes, surface treatments, heat treating, hardness, functional requirements, marking, basic dimensioning and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ensure compliance with ARCH and customer requirements with respect to inspection and record keeping.
  • Complete non-conforming product paperwork and tag/segregate non-conforming product per policies and procedures.
  • Audit product routing packets for accuracy of paperwork/documentation and for correct Good Documentation Practices.
  • Understand and perform all duties with a strict adherence to Good Documentation Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Perform a variety of tasks or other duties, as assigned.
  • Work under general supervision of a supervisor or manager.
  • Abide by and support all safety and quality system requirements.
  • Follow documented inspection plans for complex and tightly toleranced products accurately and dependably.
  • Complete customer supplied inspection plans (SIPs) and documents results, as required.

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); VoTech Trade school graduate preferred.
  • Proficient in a wide variety of inspection tools and devices.
  • Knowledgeable in Gage R&R techniques.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and customer/ARCH drawings. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the group.

Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Works well in group problem solving situations. Understands sources of error in inspection techniques and is able to isolate issues impacting results.

Math Ability:
  • Ability to apply to perform basic arithmetic functions without a calculator; Ability to apply concepts such as decimals and converting mm to inches; Capable of practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).


Computer Skills:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.
