Robert Half has an immediate need for a talented Accounting Clerk. In this role, you will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). The Accounting Clerk position is a permanent opportunity and is situated in the Stuart, Florida, area.
Your responsibilities in this role
- Handle general accounting tasks: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
- Carry out additional related duties and help with special projects on an as-needed basis
- Resolve discrepancies, and create correction documents if needed, by checking all possible sources of disagreement, recreating likely actions, and identifying the effect on other accounts
- Manually or electronically post financial information
- Create statements and reports that require the use of a number of sources
- Support accounts payable by filing vendor invoice and disbursements and by matching & filing A/P invoices
- Support Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
- Code documents using the proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
- 1+ years of accounting experience required
- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is ideal, but not required
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Data entry experience highly desired
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience
- Deep understanding of Administrative Assistance
- Well-founded grasp of File management systems
- General familiarity with Bank Deposit
- Administrative Office experience preferred
- Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Proven knowledge of Record Keeping
