Programmer/Analyst: III (Senior)

This Programmer Analyst role from Robert Half will bring together your understanding of software and applications programming and industry requirements and your desire to create and define systems scope and objectives. In this role, you would provide recommendations for developing or modifying applications or databases, using research and fact-finding. Key responsibilities

- Analyzes user requests for systems changes or improvements. Documents functional requirements and assesses cost, feasibility and utility. Develops recommendation as to how, when or whether to proceed with making the changes

- Serves as the in-house guide for internal clients experiencing programming problems, consulting on applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting the issues. Consultation can include troubleshooting and/or education

- Provides ongoing training and assistance for end users and other partner groups for a particular application, system or process

- Evaluates and records problems. Collaborates with other programmers to fix issues with code

- Create and evaluate programming changes for each systems development phase prior to implementation. Log test cases and expected results. Verify that results meet requirements. May plan basic tests or a defined subset of larger tests. May suggest acceptance/rejection when requirements are not met

- Analyzes processing procedures. Develops recommendations for improvements

- Helps develop communication content for particular system changes being implemented in production

- Builds dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst, and ensures they are up to date- Comprehensive understanding of programming languages

- Previous experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements

- Essential project management skills, including project planning and tracking principles; project risk and issues identification, assessment, tracking, and mitigation

- Proficiency in PC and mainframe hardware/software

- Strong familiarity with Debug Application

- Comprehension of Data Management

- Foundational knowledge in design

- Previous experience working with XML Technologies

- Earlier work involving Deliverable

- Solid understanding of regulatory reporting

- Well-founded grasp of Communication Skills

- General familiarity with SQL

- Finance experience highly desired

- Prior experience with Accounting Principles

- Proven knowledge of Workstation Support

- Foundational knowledge in Conformance

- Experience with Power BI

- Wide ranging experience with configuration management

- Practical knowledge of Oracle

- Hands-on experience with A Plus

- Expertise in Translate

- Skills in Modeling Techniques
