DutiesChief IT Architect for the Data Center Services Division, Technology Foundation Services (TFS), J6 Information Operations, with Agency-wide business process reengineering and systems modernization efforts.Responsible for compliance with DoD and DLA policies governing information architecture and the structure of the TFS Architecture Framework.Analyzes, evaluates, and advises on the current and predicted future logistics systems, technical, and data views of the Data Center Services Division architecture.Aids in the development, integration, and institutionalization of functional requirements into Agency strategic plans and automated information system requirements.Ensures that business needs are effectively integrated into information acquisition plans and programs.Responsible for developing and executing information architecture business strategies and programs which impact DLA logistics support efforts throughout DoD and DLA Information Operations.Develops, documents, and maintains operational and system architecture views, e.g. Operational Concept Diagrams, Activity Models, and Information Exchange requirements.Serves as primary technical liaison to other groups, DLA Information Operations activities, and external agencies on systems' architectural issues, ensuring communication of the purpose, scope, and maturity of the Information Operations architecture.Defines problems and identifies key issues in the development of architecture plans and is instrumental in establishing regulatory, policy and procedural, and system guidance.Evaluates the composition of the DLA technical and infrastructure architecture views to ensure that emerging functional and systems requirements are effectively and economically facilitated.Plans and coordinates architecture product developments across many DLA organizations and transformation and modernization programs, including management of functional and technical working groups and integrated product teams.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentMust be a U.S. citizenTour of Duty: Set ScheduleSecurity Requirements: Critical Sensitive with Secret AccessAppointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, where reciprocity cannot be applied; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): ExemptSelective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.Recruitment Incentives: Not AuthorizedBargaining Unit Status: No Qualifications To qualify for an IT Specialist (PLCYPLN) your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Evaluates, monitors, or ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies, standards for the agency's enterprise IT architecture plan.Applies analytical techniques to solve complex and unstructured information systems and technology management problems and coordinates agency's architecture interests among a wide variety of organizations and resources.Applies principles and techniques pertinent to the planning, programming, budgeting, acquisition, management and use of information systems and technology, and demonstrated experience in formulating and directing efforts to solve complex and time-sensitive problems associated with existing DLA and DoD information systems and architectures.
