MBI is seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to join our team! We are looking for someone with great communication skills, who can work autonomously, has a keen eye for detail and has superior analytical skills. Are you the person we're looking for? Apply now to join our growing team!


Responsibilities:

  • Using coded data to produce and submit claims to insurance companies using the computerized billing program and check billing logs for completion/errors.
  • Verify billing charges, ICD- 10 codes, and patients’ insurance coverage/claim numbers.
  • Manage assigned workflows which can include follow up on status of claims, denials and appeals for timely receipt of payment.
  • Contact insurance companies regarding denied claims.
  • Correct and resubmit claims after confirming transmission errors with the payer.
  • Answer billing inquiries from patients, staff, customers, and insurance companies and resolve complaints.
  • Working directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get a claim processed and paid.
  • Assist with other duties including processing payments, payment posting, and reconciliation.
  • Maintains all patient information confidentiality.
  • Maintains the compliance of billing department with business practices and local, state and federal regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to work full-time in person, pass a background check.
  • Working knowledge of medical billing with minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a healthcare billing position.
  • Knowledge of medical billing codes (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10) and insurance requirements
  • Critical thinking on every aspect of claim submission
  • Have a full understanding of the Revenue Cycle.
  • Have worked EOR’s for appeals/reconsiderations.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient computer skills, computer software and all other office equipment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to develop relationships with colleagues.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with constantly changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Must have a strong work ethic.
