THE POSITION

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Department of Transportation for an administrative officer 1 position in the vibrant Dauphin County. This role plays a crucial part in providing analytical support to the Driver and Vehicle Services programs as well as Law Enforcement. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As part of this position, your main responsibility will be to carry out investigations into fraudulent activities. These investigations may be initiated by various sources such as customer complaints, tips from internal or external sources, audit findings, or requests from law enforcement agencies. You will be required to thoroughly document and track all the findings from these investigations and analyze them to identify any potential trends or patterns that may help in detecting and preventing future fraud. Based on your analysis, you will also be expected to provide recommendations on how to mitigate the risk of fraud. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing investigation requests when necessary to resolve customer issues. It is crucial that you ensure timely responses to customers and adhere to the established guidelines within the Risk Management Office (RMO). Furthermore, you will be in charge of managing the Facial Recognition (FR) Program, which aims to identify potential fraud cases and collaborate with law enforcement agencies for further action. You will also be required to correspond with customers, law enforcement agencies, law offices, and the courts regarding FR cases. Lastly, you may be called upon to testify in criminal and civil court proceedings on behalf of the department.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for an alternate work schedule.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position requires the selected candidate to undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.
