Job Details

The Quality Manager is responsible for developing comprehensive quality plans in compliance with customer specifications, company standards and external standards (including ISO 9001 and AS 9100). This position is based in our plant in Statesville, NC and will be Mon-Fri 8-5pm with occasional weekends/nights as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and R&D teams to ensure proper implementation, sustainability, and compliance of manufacturing processes and quality systems
  • Develop comprehensive quality plans prior to production
  • Ensures parts are in compliance with the customer purchase order requirements, quality policy, company standards, regulatory and external standards (including ISO 9001 and AS 9100)
  • Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization
  • Interface with customers and vendors for inspection steps not completed internally
  • Define tools used to perform quality inspections for First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Perform frequent manufacture reviews to extract quality data pack specifications
  • Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component
  • Drawing interpretation and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Technology (GD&T) at an expert level
  • Perform Purchase Order reviews to extract quality clauses and customer requirements for Data Pack deliverables
  • Performs and coordinates quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records
  • Develops and implements the Quality led APQP activities specified within company process to assure quality from concept to production
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards
  • Prepares, reviews, and assures compliance of customer first article inspection and PPAP requirements
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Assist Quality Manager with internal audits as required

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (in engineering, preferred) plus a minimum of 5+ years related experience and/or training
  • Preferred of 2 years’ experience in working with ISO certified systems i.e. ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949 of ISO9001 experience
  • Working knowledge of mechanical inspection and testing including Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) function and programming
  • Drawing interpretation and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Technology (GD&T) at an expert level

BONUS if you have:
  • PC-DMIS software experience
  • ASQ – Certified Quality Manager or Quality Engineer
  • Industrial, aerospace or automotive background
