Seasonal Lifeguard

Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining and following all Bennington policy and procedures established in the Handbook.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and Ensure Safety: Vigilantly observe the pool area to prevent accidents and respond immediately to any potential water emergencies.
2. Enforce Pool Rules: Enforce facility rules and regulations to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all visitors.
3. Perform Rescues and First Aid: Administer necessary first aid and perform water rescues when required in a quick and efficient manner.
4. Assist Swimmers: Provide assistance and guidance to swimmers in distress, ensuring a prompt and appropriate response to emergencies.
5. Conduct Regular Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of the pool area, including equipment and facilities, reporting any hazards or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
6. Customer Service: Interact with visitors in a friendly and professional manner, offering assistance and information to enhance their experience at the facility.
7. Maintain Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized pool area, including performing cleaning duties and organizing pool furniture and equipment.

Qualifications:

1. Valid Lifeguard Certification: Possession of a current lifeguard certification from a recognized certifying agency (e.g., American Red Cross, Ellis & Associates, YMCA).
   1. CPR and First Aid Certification: Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
2. Excellent Swimming Skills: Strong swimming skills and endurance to perform rescues effectively.
3. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the office staff, visitors, and colleagues
4. Attention to Detail: Keen observation and attention to detail to ensure a safe environment for swimmers.
5. Physical Fitness: Good physical condition to perform lifeguard duties effectively, including standing for extended periods and performing water rescues.

Additional Information:

1. Work Schedule: Your schedule will be posted on our designated time and attendance application. You will review your availability, time off, available shifts with your Scheduling Manager.
2. Compensation: This position is an hourly position that is paid out weekly. Your rate will be notated in the payment section of your offer.
